Flights to Bangladesh

Now we do have a leaving date, which means we are a bit more relaxed about having quit our jobs and flats in the middle of the recession. We are flying to Bangladesh on the 12th August, so just have to finish packing tonight as our lease on the flat ends tomorrow and hopefully get our visas next week without any problems. I had to put 'Housewife' on my visa application as my profession which I wasn't thrilled about! But as Marc is the one with the job offer and I only have complicated job arrangements and possibilities but no company to put on the form, apparently it will make it much easier to get the visa. Anyway from what we've heard it's pretty normal to have a maid, and sometimes even a cook, so I'm not sure what being a housewife would entail! We have an idea of the place we are staying in Bangladesh, it's near a river and 9 m above sea level so here's hoping it's on stilts! We're not quite sure what to expect but it feels a little bit like travelling 100+ years ago before Lonely Planet had been everywhere before you.
