India

On the train to the north west of Bangladesh. The open windows were great, except we got covered with dust!  Felt a bit like Michael Palin...

Still smiling on the crowded bus to Patgram near the Indian border:

The Himalayan toy train was another one where you could stick your head out of the window. In fact Mike's standing in the open doorway.  It wasn't going very fast though. The train in Bangladesh also had open doors even though it was going much faster.

Tea shop in Darjeeling.  It was like wine tasting, I couldn't really smell the difference between them all, but it was interesting anyway!

This is the metro in Kolkata.  It was pretty easy to use and cheap too.  Everyone waited patiently on the platform before the train came but as soon as it arrived it was like a scrum to get in the doors, and then people kept on squashing in. I didn't even need to hang on as I was wedged upright! It wasn't even rush hour either.

The Victoria Memorial in Kolkata. Inside the museum was a continuous snake of locals flowing past the exhibitions.  It was impossible to look at them properly as you either got swept along in the crowd or had to stand back and let the line pass between you and the exhibits.  The museum was really good though.  And the gardens were nice and we could actually sit on the grass and relax for a bit without attracting a curious crowd.
