Old Dhaka

Here are some pictures of Old Dhaka. It was Diwali and in the Hindu Bazaar they were making statues of Hindu Gods and Goddesses which were displayed on stages above the street.



There were also lights above all the streets and lots of marigold chains for sale:

Old Dhaka is a maze and we walked around for ages trying to find our way back to a main road to catch a CNG back home. We ended up down by the river where there were markets with lots of vegetables, fruit and spices for sale.

It was quiet down by the river, there were mainly rickshaws and not much traffic. It was a nice break from the noise of the streets.
