Well, ok, now you can tell it's an engineer and not a herbarium digitisation specialist typing, right? This was just outside our apartment in Kathmandu in a narrow lane with no one (or a barrier/cone) at the bottom of the ladder. I am pretty sure this line was live too! This is how they connected the power to some new apartments just up the road from us. I hope they checked the capacity of the local grid before hooking it up!
So, last week I heard someone bashing something near the apartment. Whilst having breakfast I could see these guys demolishing one of our neighbours houses using sledge hammers, but whilst standing on top of the thing they are breaking...two storeys up! Its sometimes hard to understand why they don't see it like we do, but I guess they just do not value life as much. Oh and yes they are wearing flipflops (jandals)!
